Valley Behavioral Health helps individuals struggling with mental health and behavioral health disorders meet and exceed their treatment goals while building a strong foundation for long-term healing and recovery through a variety of programming options.
Flexible Outpatient Options
At Valley Behavioral Health in Fort Smith, Arkansas, we are proud to offer a variety of mental health care for all of our adolescent, adult, and senior patients. In order to ensure that we reach our goal of helping each and every one of our patients achieve a happier, healthier life we provide a number of outpatient programs to accompany our inpatient programs. For our adult patient’s we offer two step-down options including our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and our intensive outpatient program (IOP), both of which are designed to treat a wide range of mental health disorders. Each specific program is discussed in more detail below.
Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
This program is designed for adult patients who are still in need of mental health treatment, but no longer need the intensive structure of an inpatient treatment program. Adults in this program will meet Monday through Friday for five hours a day but will spend evenings in their own home. The main treatment focus of the PHP program is centered on group therapy, but individual and family therapy are available if needed. Additionally, medication management is provided throughout programming by a licensed physician.
Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our IOP program is for those patients who still need some extensive therapy, but also do not require acute inpatient stabilization. With a choice of morning or afternoon groups, this program is held 3-5 times per week, depending upon the needs of the patient. Just like the PHP program at our treatment center, treatment is group therapy format including process groups, education groups, and social skills groups. If needed individual and family therapy can be added to the treatment plan.
